Imperial Falangcai Enamel Porcelain Teacup Duo

Sale price5,109.00 ฿ THB

Falangcai enamel porcelain was first produced in 1696, born out of Emperor KangXi 's obsession with porcelain. Highly passionate and particular, he even set up a porcelain workshop inside the Forbidden City so every piece could be perfected under his watch. Labor-intensive and technically demanding, it was made to imperial order and exclusively for the imperial court and the royal family.

This meticulous process begins with a layer of finely ground agate applied to the porcelain body, followed by a high-temperature firing to set the base. Once the enamels are added, a second lower-temperate firing completes the piece. The glaze requires precise control during firing to avoid discoloration or cracking. Due to its high production cost, it was among the rarest and most dazzling ceramic wares of the Qing Dynasty — “Imperial ware among imperial wares”.

Why We Love This

This beautiful tea set is coated with a delicate turquoise glaze — a color treasured by the Qing court for its serene, cooling presence. Painted on its surfaces are vibrant overglaze enamels of richly detailed floral motifs, reminiscent of a lush garden in full bloom. The flourishing blossom is an emblem of prosperity and abundance.

The vivid palette, enriched by the brilliance of Falangcai enamels, lends the piece a luxurious allure — showcasing the refined artistry cultivated within the imperial ateliers of the Kang Xi era.

Perfect for tea or simply as a stunning piece of home decoration. Crafted with exceptional quality, this dignified and elegant set is ideal for sharing moments with friends and family, for quiet afternoons, or as a thoughtful gift for those who appreciates rituals, arts, and everyday luxury.
